Quick answer

Yes. We prep cars for PCS vehicle turn in, lease returns and private sales. Each one is a full detail with a different focus. Military prep is about passing the cleanliness check, lease prep is about avoiding wear charges, and sale prep is about photos and first impressions. Book it one to three days before the handoff.

Which One Are You Getting Ready For?

Can You Get My Car Ready for a PCS Move?

Yes, we can get your car ready for a PCS move. Many Joint Base Charleston families live in Summerville, and a car going overseas has to pass a cleanliness check at turn in. The PCSmyPOV turn in briefing says the vehicle must be free of bug splatter, leaves, pollen, dirt, sand and mud, inside and out. That list reads like a normal week in Summerville.

The closest Vehicle Processing Center is on Ashley Phosphate Road in North Charleston. Rules can change, so confirm the current list with your transportation office before your appointment.

Timing matters here. In late March and April, a car can be yellow with pollen again in a day. During lovebug flights in May and September, one drive down Interstate 26 undoes a wash. Book us for the day before turn in if you can.

Will a Detail Help at Lease Turn In?

A detail before lease turn in helps with anything an inspector could call excess wear that’s really just dirt. Stains, pet hair, odors, sticky cup holders and hazy headlights all fall in that group. A detail won’t fix dents, cracked glass or worn tires, so it pays to know which problems are which before you spend anything.

Ask your leasing company for a pre inspection first. Many offer one before the turn in date, and the report tells you exactly what they plan to charge for. Then send us the report, and we’ll tell you which lines a detail can clear.

  • Seat and carpet stains
  • Pet hair and smoke or food odors
  • Hazy headlights, with our headlight restoration add on
  • Light scuffs and swirl marks, with polishing

Is It Worth Detailing a Car Before You Sell It?

Detailing a car before a private sale is usually worth it. Buyers decide fast, and they decide with their eyes and nose. Clean carpet, clear headlights, glossy paint and no smell tell a buyer the car was cared for. A detail also makes your listing photos look better than the cars next to yours.

Take the photos the same day we finish, before pollen or rain gets to it. Morning light in an open driveway works well. Shoot the front corner, both sides, the dash, the back seat, the cargo area and the engine bay.

Clear Headlights

Cloudy lenses make a car look older than it is. Restoring them is one of the cheapest ways to freshen the front end.

A Clean Engine Bay

Serious buyers open the hood. A clean bay suggests the car was looked after, and it lets them see there are no leaks.

Stain Free Carpet

Stains and smells are the first thing a buyer notices when the door opens. Extraction pulls both out.

Timing

When Should You Book?

Too early and Summerville pollen, rain or lovebugs undo the work. Too late and there’s no room to fix a surprise.

Two weeks out

Ask for a quote and send photos. For a lease, get the pre inspection report first.

One to three days out

We do the detail at your home. Shipment prep works best the day before turn in.

Same day

Keep the car in a garage if you can. Skip the drive through and the dog ride.

Handoff

Wipe any dust, check the fuel level if the car is shipping, and take your own photos for your records.

When a Detail Isn’t Worth the Money

  • You’re trading in to a dealer. Most dealers recondition trade ins themselves, so a basic clean out is usually enough.
  • The car has body damage, a cracked windshield or warning lights on. Fix or disclose those first. A detail won’t hide them.
  • The lease report only lists dents and tires. That’s a body shop and a tire shop, not us.
Common questions

Questions Before the Handoff

Do you offer a military discount?+

Yes. We offer a military discount on every service, including move prep. Mention it when you ask for a quote and we’ll apply it.

Can you work on base?+

We work at homes across Summerville, which is where most of our military customers live. Base access needs a sponsor and a pass, so ask us before you plan a job on Joint Base Charleston.

Do you clean the undercarriage?+

We rinse wheel wells, rocker panels and the lower edges we can reach from the ground. We don’t have a lift, so we can’t fully wash the underside. If your shipping rules call for that, a shop with a lift is the right stop first.

How long does this kind of detail take?+

Four to six hours for most cars, the same as our full car detail. Heavy pet hair, sand or smoke can add an hour or two. You don’t need to stay with the car while we work.

What if pollen or lovebugs hit the car after the detail?+

Keep the car in a garage if you can, and drive it as little as possible before the handoff. In late March and April, or during lovebug flights in May and September, book us for the day before. If a light yellow film shows up overnight, a gentle rinse and hand dry on the morning of the appointment takes care of it.
