Car Detailing Prices in Summerville, SC, Explained Honestly

We don’t post one price for every car, because no two cars show up in the same shape. Here’s exactly what moves the price up or down, and how to get your number fast.

Quick answer

The price of a detail in Summerville depends on three things. The size of the vehicle, its condition and the service you choose. A hand wash on a clean sedan sits at the low end. A full detail on a three row SUV full of dog hair and beach sand sits near the top. Send a few photos and we’ll give you an exact price.

Why Don’t We Post One Price for Everyone?

We don’t post one price because two cars that look alike on paper can take very different amounts of work. A garage kept sedan in Wescott and a three row SUV that lives under pines in Cane Bay are not the same job. A flat price means somebody overpays, or somebody gets a rushed detail.

Instead, we price each car from photos and a few details. You get one number before we start, and that’s the number you pay.

Four things that move the price

What Changes the Price of a Detail?

Size

Lower endA compact sedan kept in a Wescott garage. Less paint, fewer seats, less carpet.
Higher endA three row SUV parked under pines in Cane Bay. More paint, more seats, and a third row that collects everything.

Condition

Lower endA commuter car that gets washed every few weeks and never carries pets.
Higher endA family car back from a week at Folly Beach, with sand in every seam and a shedding lab in the back.

Service

Lower endA maintenance hand wash with a spray sealant.
Higher endTwo step paint correction followed by a ceramic coating.

Paint

Lower endNewer paint with a few light swirls.
Higher endFaded, oxidized paint after years in South Carolina sun.

What Adds Time to a Detail?

Anything that has to come out slowly, by hand, adds time to a detail. Pet hair, beach sand, heavy stains, smoke smell, tree sap and bug etching all add time, and time is most of what you pay for. A clean car that just needs a refresh is always the quickest and least expensive job.

Is Professional Detailing Worth the Money?

Professional detailing is worth the money for most people who keep up with it. A full detail every three to four months protects the paint and interior so the car holds its value, and it saves you a whole weekend of work. It’s less worth it on a car that’s headed for the scrap yard.

The cheapest detail is the one you don’t need. Regular washes keep pollen, sap and lovebugs from doing damage that costs more to fix later.

Pricing Questions

Why don’t you list prices online?+

Because a posted price only fits the average car, and very few cars are average. Photos let us see the size and condition first, so the price you get is the price you pay, without surprise add ons when we arrive.

Is there a military discount?+

Yes. We offer a military discount, and plenty of our customers have ties to Joint Base Charleston. Mention it when you ask for a quote and we’ll apply it to your price.

When do I pay?+

After the work is done and you’ve looked the car over with us. If anything was missed, we fix it on the spot before you pay.

Can the price change after you arrive?+

Only if the car is very different from the photos, like a hidden spill under a seat or far more pet hair than we could see. If that happens, we tell you before doing extra work, and you decide.

Do trucks and three row SUVs cost more than sedans?+

Yes. A bigger vehicle has more paint, more glass, more carpet and more seats, so it takes longer. A full size truck or a three row SUV usually sits above a sedan for the same service. Condition still matters more than size, and a clean truck can cost less than a neglected compact.

Why is one quote so much lower than another?+

Usually because the two quotes aren’t for the same work. One detailer’s full detail includes clay, sealant and carpet extraction, and another’s is a wash and a vacuum. Ask each one for the list of what’s included and how long they’ll be on site. A real inside and out detail takes four to six hours.

Is it cheaper to keep a car on a regular schedule?+

In time and effort, yes. A car that gets washed every two to three weeks never builds up the baked on bugs, sap and stains that add hours to a detail. The work stays quick, and quick work costs less than a rescue job.
